Dear Parents/Guardians,
SNA Appreciation Day
Our two SNAs, Tara and Nicola, play a crucial role in supporting pupils with additional needs in our school on a daily basis. They are at the heart of our school and I am proud of the attention to detail and the care and guidance they give the children under their care. We, simply couldn’t function effectively as a school without them. This Thursday is SNA Appreciation Day and we will celebrate, as a school, the great work that Nicola and Tara do daily.
We thank you both and wish you health and happiness in the future.
Girls’ Football
Our Girls’ Gaelic Football team are playing in Heronstown tomorrow at 12.30pm – leaving the school at 11.45am. Please arrange a lift for your child if you can’t attend yourself. Gum shields are compulsory. As there are only four teams in the girls’ division this year this is the girls’ final game. We thank all the girls’ who played this year in a positive and sporting manner and to Ms O’Donoghue for training the team.
Boys’ Football
Our Boys’ Gaelic Football team are playing in Skryne GAA this Thursday (again Rathregan) at 1.15pm – leaving the school at 12.50pm. Please arrange a lift for your child if you can’t attend yourself. Gum shields are compulsory.
Swimming
The children in 3rd-6th class have their second swimming lesson in Navan Swimming Pool this Wednesday. You can pay for swimming on the Aladdin app.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness lessons continue for the pupils in 1st-6th class on Friday.
Sponsorship of School Jerseys
Everyone at Scoil Mhuire Naofa, Rathfeigh would like to thank the Cromwell and O’Rourke families for sponsoring the Boys’ and Girls’ Gaelic Football jerseys which will be worn with pride for many, many years to come by the children in Rathfeigh in various sporting events. The children love the design and style of the jerseys and are a great addition to our school. Pictures of some children wearing the new jerseys will be on the school website in a few days.
Statement of Strategy for School Attendance
At our next Board of Management meeting we will be reviewing our Statement of Strategy for School Attendance. The doors to the school are opened at 8.50am. School starts at 9am. If you arrive to school after 9am you must ‘Sign In’ your child at reception.
Regular attendance of school is vital for your child’s education. The impact of regular absences from school on children cannot be overstated. It can impact academic progress, social development and overall well-being. Please make every effort to have your child in school daily. The attendance rate last year was 92.7%. We aim to increase this to 95% this year.
School Closure
The school is closed on Monday September 28th as per the school calendar which is on the school website.
