Imlitir 10

Dear Parents/Guardians,

“Each new day is a blank page… The secret of success is turning that diary into the best story you possibly can” (Douglas Pagels)

The first nine weeks of the school year have flown by and we start November with renewed optimism and vigour. It’s been a very busy start to the year with the children engaged in a lot of activities inside and outside of the school – boys’ and girls’ Gaelic Football, swimming (3rd-6th), mindfulness (1st-6th),library visit (5th-6th), Newgrange Visit (5th-6th), New sponsorship of jerseys, maths week, monthly student councils, Halloween Fancy Dress, etc.

In addition to this we have made great progress with the Meta ‘Hybrid Library and Learning Hub’ and we will soon be receiving new furniture as part of the Department’s furniture grant. We also have our new website up and running and to top it off we have new Chairpersons of the Parents’ Association.

I would like to thank the teachers, SNAs, Jennifer, Ingrid, Liana, parents/guardians and most importantly the children for this great start to the new school year and we look forward to working closely with all stakeholders for the benefit of the educational and social development of the children.

Book Fair

The Book Fair will be arriving to the school on Monday November 9th and will be in the school for a week. This is one of the highlights of the school year for the children as they will get the chance to browse through new books and hopefully buy one or two. Mrs Campbell will be co-ordinating the Book Fair. Later this week Mrs Campbell will give parents/guardians details on how to purchase books online etc.

Parent/Teacher Meetings

Parent/Teacher meetings will take place on Thursday and Friday (26th & 27th November). We will give parents/guardians the option of a day/time in the week preceding the parent/teacher meeting.

School Website

A lot of work has been done on the school website since the start of the school year and we thank Jennifer for this. Please log onto the website to view pictures of the children in various activities or to download policies etc. If you have any ideas on how to improve the website please contact our school.

Hybrid Library and Learning Hub

We had a competition a few weeks ago to name the new library. We got an eclectic mixture of entries from children in all classes. The winning entry from Ava (6th) was ‘Seomra Eolais’. Well done Ava.

Student Council

We have four children each month on the student council from 3rd-6th class. The student council members so far this month have been so helpful around the school for which we thank them. The student council for November are Darci, Camron, James Mc and Grace and we wish them well in their new roles.

Enrolments for September 2027

We started accepting applications on October 8th for Junior Infants starting in September 2027. If you child is starting next year please download an Enrolment From and send it into the office. The closing date for applications is January 15th 2027. If you know parents who have children starting next year please ask them to log onto the school website www.rathfeighns.org for an Enrolment Form and to find out more about the school.
