Imlitir 30

12th May, 2014.

A Thuisti,

We would like to congratulate all the second class pupils who received their First Communion in Rathfeigh Church last Saturday. It was a beautiful ceremony. The children were excellently prepared for their big day by Mrs Campbell. The music and the singing on the day added greatly to the occasion. A big thanks to Ms. O’Donoghue for having the choir singing to a very high standard. We also want to thank Mrs Mc Auley and Mrs Long for helping out with preparation of the gifts and to Helen for preparing the mass booklet. Once again the Parents’ Association did a great job in providing refreshments to all the adults and children in the hall.

The second class pupils themselves deserve the most credit. They showed great maturity and confidence throughout the ceremony and their rendition of ‘ Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ was one of the many highlights.

All children will go home at 1.40p.m. on Wednesday (May 14th) to facilitate a staff meeting. Please note there is a school bus.

The school will be closed on Friday May 23rd as the school is being used for voting in the European and Local Elections.

Standardised Tests in English and Maths will take place from Monday May 26th to Friday May 30th for all pupils in First to Sixth classes. It is very important that all children in these classes will be in attendance for these tests.
