A Thuisti,

Welcome back everyone after the Halloween break. This week we will be celebrating ‘Friendship Week’ in our school. The emphasis will be on the important role that friendships can play in our lives at school and outside of school. We will have our assembly on Friday to celebrate Friendship Week.

Swimming lessons for Second, Fifth and Sixth classes in Navan Swimming Pool starts this Wednesday (November 5th) for six weeks. The cost per pupil is €45.00. We will be leaving the school at 12.15p.m. and should be back at the school at 2.30p.m. We hope that some parents of second class pupils come to the swimming pool to help the children with drying of hair etc. If your child has swimming socks we would advise that they are worn for hygiene reasons. Please send in swimming money in an envelope as soon as possible.

Lift Off to Literacy starts for First class this week. We wish all the children success in the programme over the next few weeks.

In June we had a Whole School Evaluation in Management, Leadership and Learning in our school. The report on this evaluation is now on the Department of  Education website. To read the report click on the ‘School Inspection Reports’ , ‘Whole School Evaluation in Primary and Post Primary Schools’ and ‘ Scoil Mhuire Naofa, Rathfeigh’ is on the third or fourth page of the list of schools.

At the last Board of Management meeting our Child Protection Policy was reviewed and can be viewed on our school website (www.rathfeighns.org). The next Board of Management meeting is on November 27th.

Please remind your children to bring a coat to school every day.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
